Thefreemusic.net Introduction To...propylaionPropylaion is the greek word for a gateway into a sacred place. And propylaion is an indie-band from Hamburg, Germany. The band exists since 1994 but broke of in 2000. Six years later they restarted and are very succesful by now.
They want to create music in their own style but with some remiscences to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. And they are a gateway to a sacred place. Their album "mimicry" which is available on bandcamp for a pay-what-you-want price consists of different remixes, an old version of their song "gold" and a live-version of the same song.
It's a mix between Jack Johnsson and U2 with elements of Reggae, a-capella, rap ambient and dark drone-sounds. You can drown in these songs or just relax while listening. Sometimes you feel haunted, sometimes you feel like on a sunny summerday. As i said: a sacred place, called fantasy.
